Birmingham Bash!!

Crashes of lightening and roars of thunder, thats how the day started here in Birmingham. We had thunderstorms up until eight this morning. Due to weather, we were unable to have the great send off at the regular time. However God calmed the storms and we were able to send them off at 9:30! Crews worked EXTREMELY  hard today to catch up on the hours we lost. Despite the set backs, the participants kept a positive attitude and are very excited about the progress that was made today. Tomorrow looks promising with blue skies in the forecast and selfless God serving students eager to share his love!

Tonight at worship Wayne spoke on Isaiah 6:5-7 which says ” Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Wayne really hit on verse five when Isaiah says “Woe to me.” Isaiah never noticed how dirty and messed up he was until he saw God in all his glory. It was then that Isaiah realized he was “ruined.” Isaiah was one of the greatest writing prophets, and for him to realize that he is ruined compared to God makes a huge statement. We are nothing compared to God. In his presence we are so little and he is so big. But this God that is so much bigger than us, still wants to be in relationship with us. He wants us to be holy. He wants us to be “set apart” in him. We have a whole lot of junk in our lives that we need to ask God to get rid of. We need to realize that we are nothing without him, and besides him we are ruined. Pray that we would move out of the way this week and let God rush in to take this city by storm. Pray that he keeps us safe and that he will speak through us this week! Checking Out.

In Him,

Da Bomb Birmingham Bunch
