Today was a bit unfortunate in the Huntsville World Changer land. This morning we all woke up bright and early: but there was one problem…. it wasn’t so bright. This morning the clouds were dark and the skies were threatening, but we went ahead and headed out to each of the work sites anyway. The groups had their devos and right when work was about to sky, the heavens opened up and it rained from then on into the late afternoon. We had some intense storms, but we all came back to the school and everyone stayed mostly dry and safe.
It was definitely not a productive day, but the kids kept positive attitudes all day long. We made the most of our day, and one crew even had some members of the family come to worship tonight from one of their work sites. God has a reason for all things, and unless God is with us, we’re just laboring in vain.
Tonight was concert of prayer where we focused on moving from a “me” centered prayer life to a God-centered prayer life. Each student was asked to begin to pray for their hometowns, schools, churches, etc. They also prayed for the residents of the house that they are working on, relatives, etc. They were also shown a map of the world and asked to pray for the nations.
The students here are extraordinary. Summer staff is having a blast getting to know the participants and just hearing their hearts, conversations and passion to be here. We are so thankful for each and every one of them and we want to thank all of the support coming in from all of the loved ones and churches back home. E-couragrams are just rolling in, and we are blessed by just the sheer love that is showing from home churches.
Tomorrow, the students will get up early for a half day of hard work, and then they get the afternoon off to go hang out and do whatever they want!
We know God is moving in this participants, and we can’t wait to see how God uses them.
