What a week! It is finally the end. God has certainly rocked Birmingham. And each of our participants have represented Christ well.
A grand total of $2,669.25 was collected last night for this year’s missions offering. Way to go World Changers! Your obedience has not only shown itself through our offering but also through your hard work this week. There have been 4 confessions of faith in the Birmingham community and several others among the participants. God is working patiently and diligently while there were 72 presentations of the Gospel.
Over 30 crews completed 35 projects on 23 different construction sites. Fifteen house were scraped and re-painted; Seventeen were stripped and re-roofed; and three were topped off with wheel chair ramps. Three hundred-twenty three participants came to Birmingham last Saturday to show Christ through their actions in truth and in love. And it is by the grace of God that we have come to this end. To God be all the glory because He is doing great and mighty things.
So, now we send them back to their homes; their schools; their families; their churches and communities in hopes that they would continue to see through God’s eyes. A week at World Changers is like nothing else. But they must remember that this single week is but their launching point for what God would have them doing in the future. Jesus simply said for us to “Go.” Will you go?
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I, send me!’” –Isaiah 6:8
Tonight all the participants were given the opportunity to give towards this years mission offering. The offering money collected goes to three different ministries this year: Kaleo Conferences, Canada student missions, and Urban Evangelism.
Kaleo Conferences are designed for students ready to take the next step after receiving a call to missions. Canada student missions are different projects designed for students to go and spread Gods Truth. Finally, Urban Evangelism is a ministry that takes missionaries and places them in large, urban cities across the U.S.
I challenged each of the participants to think about where their treasure lies and where the desires of their heart lies based on Matthew 6:21—“Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.” Our project goal was $4,000.
*Today is the last day that E-Couragrams will be accepted. We will no longer be distributing your E-Couragrams.
“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
Be assured that all the participants in Birmingham have not been working in vain. The Bone Crushers and Paint Chips have been diligently working on Ms. Linda Hall’s house on the west side of Birmingham. The Bone Crushers are the roofing crew. They have stripped almost half of the old roof. While they’re working enthusiastically on the roof, a painting crew, the Paint Chips, have been dominating on the ground. Each of the students are a joy to work with and to simply be around. They are Christ filled vessels willingly working to fix Ms. Hall’s house. Ms. Hall loves the students and greatly appreciates their work. “I am just so blessed to see them everyday,” says Ms. Hall, “They are always so sincere in their actions.”
Our students are working enthusiastically to bring the light of Christ to the communities that Ms. Hall lives in. Our prayer is that all of Birmingham would be touched by Christ in some way. To God be the glory because He is doing great things!

“’But you are my witnesses, O Israel!’ says the LORD. ‘You are my servant. You have been chosen to know me, believe in me, and understand that I alone am God. There is no other God—there never has been, and there never will be.” Isaiah 43:10
As God’s people we are called out to be witnesses unto His name. We have been given the privilege of knowing, believing, and understanding that He is God alone and it is our duty to represent him to the people of Birmingham this week. This morning all of our students circled up to be sent out to build up God’s Kingdom in Birmingham. We must go and live to feed the hungry. We must stand beside the broken; we must go.
The Great Send-Off

Go World Changers
All students met their crew early this morning and spent some special time together. Crews were able to develop and start new friendships that will certainly flourish and deepen in the love of Christ as the week progresses. Each crew was sent to a host church in which they attended the morning services and enjoyed a good lunch. Afterwards crews headed to the worksites to meet the neighbors. Students had the opportunity to share Christ going door by door to the neighbors of their homeowner’s house. This was certainly a busy, fun, and exciting day. And still, the week has yet to begin.
“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15
“Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God’s people everywhere, I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.” Ephesians 1:15-17
All of our churches filed into Carver High School this afternoon. Bethesda Baptist Church rolled in and unloaded for the week. Calvary Baptist, Central Baptist, and Cherry Grove Baptist all unpacked their vans, buses and trailers. First Baptist Church of Pittsburg, Fairview, Clyde, Dawes, Honea Path and Weber City came and dispensed all of their air mattresses, tools and great attitudes. Freedom Baptist Church arrived in good time and flooded the halls with excitement and anticipation. The last six churches, Hull Baptist, Judah Christian School, Mountain View Baptist, Rice Temple Baptist, Tallahassee Korean Baptist, and Trafalgar Village Baptist, all came and unpacked, unloaded everything they would need for this week of service.
With all of our arrivals, everything has begun. Welcome Celebration was a blast and opening night worship brought several challenges for the week. We, as a staff, have been anticipating the arrivals of our participants and are praying that God fills you with His spiritual wisdom and insight. Here we go!
