Everybody’s Working For The Weekend

The paint’s drying, the concrete is settling and the final nails are going in the roof. Its Friday! Today is the last day of World Changers. The participants are out finishing up their projects and saying their goodbyes to the homeowners and community memebers. A couple of our work crews have already finished the work on the houses and are moving to help some of the other crews finish up their projects. So far this week in Charlottetown the Gospel of Christ has been shared 97 times and yesterday at the back yard Bible club we had 5 children become believers! How Awesome!!

This has been a great week and we have had a blast! Last nights worship service was great, yet again! Please be sure to ask those that you know who participated in PEI WC what they have learned and experienced!

“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever”  -1 Peter 1:24

The Day of Thurs

After having the afternoon off the participants are ready to finish off the week! Last night we had students go out all over the Island! Students went over to the coast and walked around downtown!  It was a good chance for everyone to take a breath and break from the worksite.

Participants are telling people about Christ and are handing out tracks like hot cakes! We’ve had 75 presentations of the Gospel and 25 tracks have been handed out.

Pray for all the participants, students and adults as they finish out the week and attend worship. Tonight’s worship will challenge the participants to live out a life of missions, whether it be over seas or right back at home in their local communities.

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”                                         -Acts1:8

aujourd’hui, c’est mercredi

We’ve reached the half way point and not slowing down yet! Well kind of…today is a half day! All of our participants went out to work this morning like a regular day but after lunch they’re heading back to the school and getting ready for a night on the town! This will be a great chance for the students to see a different side of the community that they have been working in and take the time to hang out and do some fun things in the area.

Last night our worship service was fantastic! It was the Concert of Prayer, a low key, non distracting, low lighted service to focus just on God. There is no one visually leading and speaking throughout the night. The stage is left empty. Take the time to ask someone you know at this project about the night and if/what they learned and experienced from it.

Tomorrow’s schedule will be back to the norm. Continue praying for the participants, homeowners and community members as we finish off the week!

Double Take

Here we go again on our own. Going down the only road we’ve ever known…

Day 2 of work has kicked off! Today all of the participants are going back to their worksites and continuing on the work they started yesterday. Some of the work that the participants are doing includes re-roofing, siding, painting houses, working in retirement homes and putting on back yard Bible clubs. Everyone is doing a fantastic job! The students shared the Gospel 21 times and handed out 4 tracks! Please take time to pray for the students to have the courage and strength to share the Gospel of Jesus to this community!

“Let your light so shine before men that they may she your good deeds and praise our father, which is in Heaven.”     -Matthew 5:1

Hi Ho Hi Ho

Gloves, goggles and tightened nail aprons, its off to work we go! Today is the first day of work here in Charlottetown! Our worksites consist of re-roofing, roof repair, painting, back yard Bible clubs and siding! We sent everyone off in true fashion this morning. First we all gathered outside the school and made a big circle and asked for God to go with us as we went out into the community! Then we lined the vans and cars up and sent them out!

All of the participants were stoked to finally get to work and get their hands dirty! This week is going to be a great experience for all here, staff, students, adults, and volunteers. There is so much to be learned from one another and from the Lord. Be sure to ask your son, daughter, friend, sibling, or youth group what all they learned when they return home!

“He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”  -Micah 6:8

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY

It’s the first official full day at World Changers! Last night we had our first worship service! Jimmy Fowler from Chattanooga, TN is our speaker for the week and he is doing an awesome job! Please pray that God will continue to move in and through these students as they begin going into the community today.

Today everyone will be split up into their work crews for the week. After everyone meets their crews they will be going off to four different churches in the community that will be feeding lunch through out the week!

This is going to be a great week! Everyone is excited and enthusiastic about it! We are praying God will move in the lives of all the participants as well as the homeowners and community members. Later this afternoon we will go over how to share your faith and tell the Gospel! Please be in prayer for the participants to have a chance to tell someone their story this week! Also pray that God has already prepared the hearts of the community to hear!

“Let your light so shine before men, that they will see you good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven” -Matthew 5:16

Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’ -Matthew 28: 18-20
