The Last Nail of a New Fence

Yesterday, one crew finished putting up a new fence for a homeowner. The crew invited the resident to add the last nail to the new fence and  he was so excited to help in even this small way. God has been providing opportunity after opportunity for the participants to share God’s love. And the best part is that each student is answering God’s call with faithfulness and enthusiasm.

The World Changers Concert of Prayer was held last night on the football field after nightfall. The stars and the moon declared God’s glory along with each student and adult as we praised God for all the good things he has done for us. It was moving to see the hearts of the students laid before the throne. I know that God will be faithful to mold each heart to his will.

Continue to Pray for us as we grow in our faith by serving the God of the universe!

Hotter Than Hades

Yesterday was HOT! The peak temperature was 109 degrees, and still lives were changed! If you asked me how awesome and gracious God is, I would answer you with this example: IT’S 73 DEGREES!!!!!! God has hidden the sun under a beautiful blanket of clouds to encourage hard work from the volunteers today.

We are learning to thank God for things that he orchestrated before he set time into motion which would point us to Him. Things like cool weather and beautiful mountains. We are also learning to be set apart for God’s holy purpose. Please continue to pray for each student  and adult as they seek God this week.

Sunday Sets Off

We have had so much fun today. Each crew met for the first time during their first crew chat. As we stood in the middle of the quad, circling for a full view, it was incredible to see how God put together such eccentric groups of kids.

The staff, along with three other crews went to Clovis Hills this morning and heard Bill Hybels speak about what it means to be a leader and to have Holy discontent. What we learned is that there are things in our lives that God allows us to not stand and so we have this holy discontent which moves us into action.

This afternoon each of the crews went out to visit their homeowners and meet their neighbors. This was a great exercise of the participant’s witness to share why they chose to come to Clovis, California.

Tonight in worship, John

reminded the group to be amazed at God’s holiness. We read from Isaiah 6. It was our prayer for the night that each of the participants would leave this missions experience completely changed…so changed that there is even a physical difference in their appearance.

Please pray for each student and adult as they head out for their first day of labor tomorrow.

A World Changers Welcome

Today is the day…the smell of duct tape, the sound of vans and busses pulling in a parking lot, and the inevitable sight of that beautiful World Changers banner hanging outside of Clovis North Educational Center here in Clovis, California can only mean one thing: Today is the day that World Changers starts! We are so excited to see the safe arrival of each group tomorrow.

The staff and coordinators have been preparing and anticipating this moment for many months now. We are Dave MacNeill, the Project Coordinator. Vonda Nutt, the Missions Communication Specialist/Team Leader. Katie Wiggins is the Office Manager. Chris Rouse is the Audio/Visual Technician. And Andrew McCallum is the Music Leader.
