We’re going to miss you!

This has been a wonderful week of service and worship here in Durham! Thank you all so much for giving up a week of your summer to help of community of people you don’t know. The seeds you have planted will continue to grow and your mark will forever be left on Durham. I hope you have enjoyed this week and will continue to grow in your walk with Christ daily. Our prayer is that each of you will serve as a summer or semester missionary before you graduate college.

This week in Durham, NC there were 23 crews that works on 21 different houses. 290 participants came to serve and be apart of the project.

Offering: $3102.29 * Presentations of the Gospel: 165 * Tracts handed out: 352 * People who accepted Jesus as their Savior: 8 * People Requesting Prayer: 95 * Bibles Handed out: 31 * AMAZING

It’s been a terrific week! See you next year!!!

Hearts of Gold

The students at the Durham project have large hearts full of Christ’s love. Monday night we took up a missions offering. The students have given $3087.29 this week! This is spectacular and will be sent out to help countless people share the gospel and start churches all over North America. The missions offering being taken up this year goes to three different ministries.

- Kaleo Conferences- Specialized events for high school, college, and seminary students exploring or pursuing God’s call to a Christian related vocation.  The goal of World Changers is to be able to fund four regional Kaleo conferences in 2008, which would equip students to successfully answer God’s call on their lives.

Canada- The cities are where most of the people in Canada live, but where there are the least number of evangelical churches.  One desired outcome for Student Missionaries in Canada is evangelizing people for Christ and starting churches that will make an impact for generations.

 - Urban Evangelism- The fastest growing segments among teens today are found within the Hispanic and African American community.  In order to fulfill the Great Commission, we as the Church need to see the need for urban evangelism and respond.  Therefore, the offering will fully fund four US/C2 missionaries to go to Chicago, Baltimore, San Antonio, and Detroit next year.

There will be no more encouragrams accepted after today. Thank you for all that you have sent to these students.

This has been an awesome week. We have one more day so lets finish strong!

Workin’ Hard for the Lord!

The students are on day 4 of the project. After 2 long hot days of work they are beginning to see the results of their labor. The old shingles are coming off and the new ones are nailed in perfectly.

Not only is the work going well, but the students are also doing an awesome job of evangelizing to people they meet in the neighborhoods. A few of the students have been able to share the gospel and even lead others to Christ.

The Great Send Off

With smiles on their faces and their hammers in hand the Durham World Changers gathered for prayer before they head off to their worksites. Our prayer is that the students not only work hard and finish their projects, but they also are witnesses to the residents and neighbors that see their service. They will have many opportunities to share Christ with the community of Durham. Pray for their courage and strength as they do so.

Hot Sun, Long Days, Hard Work… So Rewarding.

Dance with Jesus!

Kenny Privette is our speaker every night while in Durham. He speaks from the heart and it is evident how much he loves Christ.

Tonight he presented the participants with many challenges. He started by suggesting they see the Bible as a love letter from God. God reveals himself to us so that we will not just know about Him, but truly know Him personally. Second, he challenged us to dance with Christ. To have an intimate relationship with Him and allow Him to lead. Also, he challenged us to drop everything and run to Him. Thank God daily for His forgiveness, grace, and mercy. God is a loving God and he wants to spend time with us.

“To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with me Father on his throne.” Revelation 3:21

Give Him our all because He has set us apart.
