Florence Finale!!

WOW!!! What an amazing week we had here in Florence, Alabama!! God moved through so many lives this week! We had multiple kids accept calls to ministry, many others accepted the call to let God come into their lives! We had 23 houses get worked on this week, most consisting of roofing projects and other involved painting and siding. We had multiple community salvation’s due to our students and adults leading and living the ay God had intended us to do. They served with selfless hearts and really showed what it mans to be a Christ follower.

We want to thank everyone who made this week possible, From all the coordinators to all the group leaders and students. This week would not have been possible if it weren’t for your servant harts. We also wan to thank all of the faculty here at Hibbett Middle School, for their hospitality and service. A big thank you goes out the the kitchen staff for providing us with amazing food all week! It as such a pleasure to work with every single person here. We set out this week with a plan to go and make a difference for Christ, and were leaving this week as world changers! Our prayer and hope is that we just don’t let ths be a one week thing but we carry everything we’ve learned this week back home and make a difference for Christ in our own communities. Pray that God will have his hand on us as we travel and that he will be our shield and protector when we face adversity.Signing Out.

Mission Accomplished!!

Today the students started off their morning by having their vans and a few times themselves, pelted with water balloons! To those who were hit by the water balloons, you probably should not open your doors or windows when water balloons are being thrown. However, those of you who got hit, you took it like champs! A lot of crews are on the verge of finishing up their homes and should be finished by noon tomorrow! Its so exciting to see the transformation of these homes, and the smile on the homeowners faces makes the whole week worthwhile!

As you read earlier in the week, we took up our missions offering on monday night and set a goal $2,700. Well, the results are in and this week they raised $2,961.12!!! This money they raised is going to three amazing organizations. The Kaleo Conference, Current Canada, and Urban Evangelism. The Kaleo Conference is a two day conference for those who feel they are being called to some type of vocational ministry. This conference will allow people to hear from others who have been in ministry and will allow them to learn what it’s all about and what a field of ministry entails. Current Canada sends out missionaries all over Canada to spread the word and tell people in Canada about Christ. Canada has a population of 33 million and 90% of those people are unchurced. That is 30.69 million people who have not heard about God yet. This money the participants raised will allow missionaries to go into Canada and make a difference for Christ and to change those statistics. Urban Evangelism is a program that will send 5 us/c2 missionaries into five different urban cities in the US. Two-thirds of America’s population lives in the top 100 cities and that is where these missionaries will be sent. That is a lot of people that need to hear the word of God and need to hear how gracious and loving he is! These missionaries will go into the city and partner with a local church and will talk to people in these cities to try and find out what their needs are. They will then let the church know how people are doing and what they need. This money that was raised is going to allow God to do so much more in these cities and through Kaleo conference. The kingdom of God is going to have some new members to the family because of this offering! We want to thank each and every single person that gave or prayed for this offering, God is going to use it in big ways! Until Tomorrow.

IMPORTANT: E-couragrams will be closed tonight, so get them in while you can!

We Can Feel You All Around Us

Today was work day number two! Crews worked hard to try and get as much done before the half day tomorrow. Some crews might be able to finish tomorrow which would be awesome! They would then be able to go and help other crews finish their projects!

Today was our concert of prayer, and God was moving in so many hearts tonight! Adults and students on their hands and kness coming clean before the Lord and offering all they had. It was amazing to see! We touch on the acronym of acts prayer tonight. A is for adoration- the act of worship. Worship given to God alone. C is for Confession-an admissions of misdeeds or faults. T is for thanksgiving- an expression of gratitude, especially to God. S is for supplication- To ask for humbly or earnestly as by praying. Tonight we hit n all four of these aspects through song and prayer. God touched many hearts tonight and opened many eyes to the things that were keeping us from being in a full relationship with him. Pray that we will continue to allow God to weed out these areas in our lives that are keeping us from experiencing all he has for us! Until Tomorrow.

Operation Change The World Is Underway!

Today was the beginning of what is going to be an amazing week of ministry and growth! Today we had our great send off and sent all 280 students out to their worksites to begin changing peoples lives. The students left the parking lot here at Hibbett with the intent to go and make a difference. They left with much enthusiasm and excitement, eager to make a difference! Today was a successful day on the job sites. A lot of work got done and the students worked with selfless hearts. Today Christ was showing up in big ways! We had two people accept Christ! It’s only the first day and these students are impacting the lives of the people here in Florence for Christ! Students got back to the school around 4:30 just in time to take showers before dinner. Tonight we had steak, mashed potatoes, and banana pudding. It was delicious!!

Tonight Kenny hit us hard with the scripture from Isaiah 6:5 which says “Woe to me!” I cried. ”I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” Kenny explained to us that often times, we think we are so great, and above everyone else, that we got it going on. We don’t think there is anyone better, but then one day, we see or meet that person who is and we realize we’re not all that we thought we were. Isaiah saw God and realized how unclean and unholy he is compared to God. He saw the Lord Almighty and realized how ruined he is. Often times we compare ourselves to other people. It makes us feel better about where we are at in our walk with Christ. But it doesn’t matter. The only person we should compare ourselves to is Christ. For he is the ultimate clean, he is the only one who is completely good and pure. He is the alpha and the omega. He is the only one who is even worthy of being compared to. We are so messed up and when we look at God and see how holy he is, it’s amazing to think that he would love us and want to be in relationship with us. Isaiah was thought to be the greatest prophet and he realized that in the presence of God he was ruined and so unworthy. We serve and praise such an amazing God that no matter how messed up we are or how unworthy we are, he still loves and desires to be in relationship with us. Pray that we will shine his light thorughout this week and spread his love and mercy to those here in Florence! Until Tomorrow

Holy, Holy, Holy!

Today was preparation day! We woke up for breakfast at 7:30 and then headed to church. Each crew attended the church that was going to be feeding them for the week. After the service, the church provided them some lunch before they headed out to the worksites. Once they finished eating, they headed out to their worksites to see the site and meet the home owners. The students then went door to door the meet the neighbors and let them know what was going to be happening this week. This is often a great oppurtunity to share Christ with people and let them know why we are here and that here is a God out there who loves them and wants to be in relationship with them. After they finished up at the worksites, they headed back to the school.

We had a really good worship service tonight! Kenny took us through Isaiah 6:1-4. He hit on the point that the Seraphs were calling out to each other ” Holy, holy, holy is Lord almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory.” In that time, things were repeated three times to emphasize what was being said. These angels were declaring how holy our God is. Kenny mentioned how “holy, holy, holy” could represent all parts of God, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. Thats how awesome and worthy our God is! “The whole earth is full of His glory”, everything we set our eyes on represents god’s glory for in him all things are my made, for him and by him. We serve such a holy God, and it’s amazing to think that he desires to be in relationship with us.

As we get the week started tomorrow, keep us in your prayers. Pray God keeps us strong and keeps us united. Pray that people would be able to see his lighting shining through all of this week. Allow those people who are in the dark, to step into his marvelous light! Until Tomorrow.

For Him,

Tonight during worship, speaker Kenny Martin revealed to us how we are a chosen people. This came from 1 Peter 2:9. God has chosen us, he doesn’t need us, but he wants us, he chose us to be his disciples. He chose to use us! What an honor! The God of the universe, the God who made all things from his own hands and his own breath, chose us to be his people, the people he uses to spread his word and his love. He chose us to be his ambassadors. God has chosen each and single person that is here this week, He chose to put all of us here in Florence for some reason that we do not know but what we do know is he wnats to use us this week! Pray that we will allow him to work through us and shine his light in and through us! Until tomorrow.

These seven super star project fanatics couldn’t be more excited to begin what is going to be an awesome week of ministry!

Please pray that God will begin to prepare the students hearts for this week, and that he will open the hearts and minds of those that we will come into contact with. Pray that his hand will be in everything that happens and that he may watch over us at the worksites. Last of all, pray the students and leaders have an unforgettable week of serving the Lord! Until Tomorrow.
