It’s Been A Blast In The Rocket City!!

Words cant even begin to describe what an amazing week this has been! We are at a loss for words for what God has done through these students and adults and how he has changed so many lives! We had salvation’s in the double digits, multiple re-dedications and multiple people that answered the call God has given them. This group of 250 people changed the lives of 2o blessed homeowners and  many others they came in contact with. One home owner stated “It’s like God has sent his angels.” That just says it all. These students, leaders and adults impacted this city of Huntsville for Christ and now it is time to impact their cities back home for. We have learned this week that God has choosen us, God wants to be personal with us, He calls us out of darkness into his marvelous light and he has given us an invitation to go and make a difference for him. Our hope is that these students don’t just let this be a one week experience that gives them a two month God high, we want this to be the start of a life that is lived for Christ, a life that lives to serve others, and a life that loves others as we love ourselves and as God loves us. Matthew chapter 9 says ” The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” We are the workers that Christ wants to send out into the harvest. He has called us to reach those who have not heard his word, but will we answer the call? Will we walk through the doors that Christ opens up for us? Will we go back home and make a difference for Christ? We don’t know the answer to this but what we do know is that every single participant here, has it in them to make a difference for Christ. We hope and pray that this will be the start of a revival, that this will be the start of  hundreds of lives being saved, that this will be the start of a Christ movement that can’t and won’t be stopped. Pray for the students and adults as they go back home that they stand strong when faced with trials and tribulations, for the devil will try and knock them off of their mountain top, but wth Christ by their side, they will get through it and they will stay strong!

We would just like to thank all of those who were involved in making this amazing week possible. Coordinators David Cochran, Rob Peavy, Mike McCoy and Robin Wharlow put in hundreds of hours to make sure this was an amazing week of ministry and service.  We would also like to thank the amazing and extremly hospitable faculty of J.O. Johnson High that was here to help us at our beckon call. They made this such and easy and fun week and we really enjoyed serving and being served by them! And last but not least, we want to thank all of the participants who selflessly gave up their time and money to come here to Huntsville to serve the Lord and to love on those who needed loving. Thank you all for such an amazing week of service. Fill us up, and send us out Lord! Take Care and God Bless! Signing out.

Fill us up and send us out!

Today was a great day! A lot of crews have finished up their projects and will go help those who have not finished their projects yet. There is one more day of work to do, and we know that all who are involved can’t wait to see all of finished projects!

We have finally totaled up the missions offering and we have a grand total of $2,591.oo!!! We met and beat our goal of $2,500! This years offering will go to Current Canada, Urban Evangelism and The Kaleo Conference.  For Canada The cities are where most of the people in Canada live, but where there are the least number of evangelical churches.  One desired outcome for Student Missionaries in Canada is evangelizing people for Christ and starting churches that will make an impact for generations. Urban Evangelism- The fastest growing segments among teens today are found within the Hispanic and African American community.  In order to fulfill the Great Commission, we as the Church need to see the need for urban evangelism and respond.  Therefore, the offering will enable five US/C2 missionaries to go and make a difference for Christ. Kaleo Conferences- Specialized events for high school, college, and seminary students exploring or pursuing God’s call to a Christian related vocation.  Kaleo will provide student with guidance and information on what to do with the calling the have received. The selfless hearts these participants have allowed for this money to be raised and God will do great things with what was donated!

Tonight Kenny hit us with a big message. He talked about Isaiah 6:8 which says, Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send Me!” In life, everyone wants to be wanted by someone. God wants us! He is giving us an invitation to go out and make a difference for him. Will we accept it? God doesn’t need us, but he wants us! When God calls us, he has a message for us and only we can answer it. God wants us, and it is so humbling to think that the Gd of the universe, the maker of all things, wants such insignificant, unworthy and messed up people to do his work. We serve such an awesome and loving God and the least we can do, is accept his invitation to go out and make a difference. Fills us up and send us out Lord!  Signing out for now.

p.s. After tonight there will be no more E-couragrams, thank you!

The Way God Moves

Today was the second day of work and a lot of crews are making great progress. Students are having a blast serving the lord, and they’re having a blast serving other people. With only 2 1/2 days of work left, these students and adults are giving it all they have, they are putting it all on the line for God

God Is moving in amazing ways here in Huntsville. In two days, we have 7 student salvations and there a quite a few more that are right there on the edge of giving it all to God. Pray for those who have God tugging on their heart that they may flee to him and embrace his open arms of mercy and love.

Tonight was the concert of prayer. It was amazing! God was flowing through the worship center touching hearts and changing lives. We went over the acts application: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication. Each aspect had its own verses and own song. It was powerful! We often times take for granted the things we have and thinking about all these aspects brings us back to reality and that reality is we are so blessed by such an awesome and amazing God and we are so unworthy and so broken in his presence. But his love and mercy picks up the broken pieces and puts us back together. In his presence we are so small compared to him, but he still loves us, he still desires to be in relationship with us, he desires us to come to him, to trust him, to love him. We serve such an awesome and amazing God that no words can even explain how mighty and great he is! There just isnt anything that can come close to justifying how awesome God is, that is why we worship him, that is why we serve him and that is why we love him!  Signing out for now.

The Rocket City Lift Off!!

This morning all the students and leaders and crew chiefs, stood upon the front lawn at J.O. Johnson High School for The Great Send Off. All 260 of us circled around and were lead in prayer by our Associational Coordinator Rob Peavy. Rob prayed that the Lord may give us all perseverance to get through the week and strength to face challenges head on. Our hope is that the students and leaders would join as brothers and sisters in Christ and that God’s light and love may be shown through every participant this week. Pray that God may have his hands on these participants as they go and fulfill The Great Commission given to us in Matthew chapter 28. Pray that The Lord will give them boldness when he presents them the opportunity to share their faith. Were looking forward to hearing the stories of how these students and leaders are going to impact this city for Christ!

Tonight during the worship service we had the offering. The money that was raised will go to Missionaries in Canada, The Kaleo Conference and Urban Evangelism. Pray that God will use this money that was selflessly given to bring glory and praises to his kingdom. Pray that this money will allow for the people who have not heard the word or felt the love Christ, that they may be reached, saved and changed.

Kenny made it  a point tonight that the only person we can compare ourselves to is God. He is the one and only true good in the world, and we can not measure what good is until we look at him. In Isaiah 6:5 it states “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” This passage is extremely humbling. It makes us realize that when we look at God for who he really is, we are so unclean and unworthy of all he is. Looking up at God and seeing his light, shows us how messed up we are because his light shines through our holes and allows us to see how we desperately need his love and mercy and grace. It reminds us that we serve such a holy and magnificent God that makes us clean and transforms us into the people he has created. We ask that you please pray that God will keep moving in these students, adults and leaders lives this week and that he may present us with opportunities to share his love and grace with other people. Pray that lives will be changed this week and that God may flow through this city and through everyone involved. We are excited to continue the work God has laid out for us this week! Signing out for now.

Let The Good Times Roll!!

Today was preparation day. All 20 of the crews attended the church service of the church that will be feeding them this week. After the service was over, each church provided their crew with lunch. Following lunch each crew went to go check out their worskites and had the opportunity to meet the home owners. Crews arrived back to the facility around 3:00 for our big group picture. They were then dismissed to evangelism training and crew position training. Each crew has five positions, Break-master, Evangelism Recorder, Medic, Devotion Leader and Safety Inspector. After training was over, we had dinner then headed to worship.

Today speaker Kenny Martin revealed to us God wants our relationship with him to be personal, he wants us to see him everyday. Everywhere we look, we are looking at God. Whether it be at the beach, or in the mountains or looking at the stars, God is everywhere because he created everything. God was moving in big ways throughout worship tonight, he tugged on a lot of hearts and many people fell on their knees giving things to God that had been keeping them from experiencing the personal relationship that God desires with us. We can’t wait to send the crews off tomorrow and see how the transform the city of Huntsville, bringing all glory, honor and praise to heavenly father. Keep us i your prayers that God may work through us this week and that it may be his words that flow from our mouth and his love that is portrayed in our actions. Were excited to get this awesome week started! Signing out for now.
