Crews finished up their projects and shed a few tears when they left. In Rio Chiquito the host VBS church showed their appreciation to the crew by making an authentic Puerto Rican lunch. Most participants weren’t ready to leave because of the relationships they had formed with the homeowners and students during the week. Participants this week presented the Gospel 275 times!!!!! That’s amazing! 40 of those people came to know Christ! God moved through this community. Our offering goal this week was $1,300 and participants gave $1,530.
We would like to thank the churches for coming to Puerto Rico this week. Without you this week would not have been possible.
Another day down and one more to go. The fruits of the student’s labor are starting to show at the construction sites. Walls, roofs, and decks are up and looking great. The Wrecking Crew’s Vacation Bible School site had 17…yes that’s SEVENTEEN salvations! Praise God! He is doing wonderful things all over this community! After working at their sites the participants returned to camp once again. Tonight was Puerto Rican night, which means the ladies of El Mesias cook an authentic Puerto Rican dinner. Then it was off to worship! Tonight’s service was lead by the El Mesias worship band and we were all challenged to serve in other areas after World Changers. Tomorrow’s our last day. Pray that participants will have the opportunity to boldly share their faith.
Wow! Today was an amazing day. The participants went to work early this morning, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. VBS sites were in full swing and children could be found singing, making crafts, or having recreation time. Construction sites are making much progress and are getting near completion. After a hard day of work, participants came back to camp for pork chop night and then headed to the Concert of Prayer. God’s presence tonight was overwhelming. Everyone had the chance to write their praises to God on a praise banner. They were also able to write down their confessions and lay them at the foot of the cross. The Concert of Prayer was exactly what everyone needed to refuel for the rest of the week. Continue to keep them in your prayers! Don’t forget tomorrow is the last day to send E-Couragrams.
This morning participants gathered round the playground for The Great Send Off. Linda Clayton, project coordinator, prayed for safety and protection of the crews and the community. Six Vacation Bible School programs were started at different locations throughout Juana Diaz. Some crews are also building houses in the same areas. Pray that students will have the opportunity to share their faith with those they meet. Many lives will be changed this week.
Don’t forget to send E-Couragrams!
