Students giving to Students

The offering collected at World Changers projects this summer is going to help three important ministries: the ministry in Canada, Kaleo, and Urban Evangelism. Canada is 93% unevangelized and our offering is used to help send students and summer/semester missionaries to change that. Kaleo is a conference and network that is for students of all ages who feel they are being called to ministry or missions. It helps them understand and answer God’s calling in their lives. Over the past few years, our offering has made Kaleo as inexpensive as $25 a conference! Urban Evangelism is a ministry through the North American Mission Board, they are sending out five missionaries, each to a different major U.S. city. They will plug in with a church in that area and focus on networking to get connected with students. These missionaries will listen to the needs of the people in the area and work on building and networking churches.

This week in Lexington, our group of 247 students and adults gave $2,112.05 towards these three ministries. We are so thankful for their generosity!

Leaving Lexington =[

This week in the Lexington community, 18 homes were worked on by 11 crews. Countless lives were changed by the work these young people did in this city and they impacted several lives for the better for the rest of their lives. Also these young people have been impacted for the rest of their lives.

Story Time

God softened the heart of a homeowner that had been hardened to Him and the church. He did this through the interaction of the World Changers crew who is working on her home. It is an amazing life changing story that has changed many lives and impacted others for the better.

In traveling to our project one of our churches encountered another church whose vehicle had broken down on the side of the road. Amazingly enough they were headed to the same city. They had exactly enough room on their 46 passenger bus for the stranded passengers. So they piled on and continued to Lexington. They dropped off their students at the World Changers facility and then drove the other church where they needed to be.

On day one of the work week, one of our crews distributed all of the “Why We’re Here” tracts given to them that morning. They took every opportunity to share with people in the neighborhood and let them know about their love for Christ.

“You Can Be A…”

“World Changer! …Go out and change the world! 3..2..1..GO!”

THE GREAT SEND-OFF!

We circled up and prayed before the best great send-off in the history of Great Send-Off’s! The adults lined up on each side of the side walk making a tunnel for the youth to go through. The youth plunged through the tunnel high-fiving all the adults. They were all encouraging each other and getting excited about the first day of work!

“And All Will See, How Great, How Great Is Our GOD!”

Tonight was an amazing worship experience for all of us. God was here and moving in our hearts, preparing us for the next week of work. Our Project Coordinator and Worship Speaker spoke from Ephesians 2:10. He challenged the students to do the good works that God has prepared for them. It begins this week as we go to the worksites and allow God to work through us.

Lexington is Overrun

Registration began at 2 p.m. today and a small swarm of youth and adults from some corners of the United States.
