Impact Left in Little Rock

The Crews worked hard this week in Little Rock. They have all returned home, but they left a mark. They were the vessels used to relay God’s love to the community of Little Rock. Pray for the adults and students as they return to their everyday work. Pray that the experience they had at World Changers will produce change in their own lives. Praise God for the work he did through them.

Let Hope Rise, Darkness Tremble in Your Holy Light

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9

This week students have been calling people out of darkness and into Christ’s light.  The students have also enabled other students to also serve in missions by giving financially. This week the students gave over $2000 to support three ministries: the Kaleo conference (a conference for students called into the ministry), missions in Canada, and urban evangelism (sending 5 college graduates into 5 urban cities for 2 years).

E-encouragrams will no longer be accepted from this point on.  Students will be heading home within the next 36 hours.  Pray for the students as they say goodbye to children and residents that they have built relationships with over the past week.  Pray that there will be a lasting impact on the community of Little Rock.

Even When the Rain Falls

The rain has been falling off and on here in Little Rock, yet work is continuing. Pray that the participants will not be discouraged by the rain, but will continuing working wholeheartedly. Pray that the participants will be creative with the extra time that comes with the rain.  Wednesday afternoon also brings the chance to see the sights and sounds of Little Rock.

I will go, Lord, send me

Where were you this morning at 7:ooam? Were you in bed? Were you eating breakfast? This morning in Little Rock, 275 youth and adults were circled up in the parking lot praying over the work week. By 7:30am, the parking lot was buzzing with students loading buses to go to their work sites for the day.

Homes are receiving new roofs that won’t leak every time it rains.  Houses with dirty, peeling paint are being transformed into bright, freshly-painted homes.

Please pray for the students as they minister for the second day this week. Pray that God will refresh the spirits of the youth and adults here in Little Rock.

The Crews!

This morning crews met for the first time. They went to worship with the church that will be feeding them lunch throughout the rest of the week and visited their worksite for the first time. Residents and neighbors were met and relationships began.

Tonight was our second night of worship, and we learned about Isaiah’s encounter with God found in Isaiah 6:1-8.  We reflected on God’s power and his holiness. He is worthy of our worship and worthy of our wholehearted work this week.

Pray for the participants as they begin work in the morning. Pray for the crews as they continue to bond and learn to work together as a team. Pray for opportunities to share the gospel of Christ to those in the community. Pray for a world change.IMG_0529

Set Apart in Little Rock

This afternoon the buses that packed and drove for long hours arrived. God provided each group with safety on the road.  The church groups have unloaded and settled into their new home here at Life Line Baptist Church. Tonight we worshipped together and Josh, our speaker, lead us to start thinking of living our lives in a way that is set apart.

Pray for the students as they will visit their worksite for the first time on Sunday afternoon. Pray that relationships will begin with the residents and neighbors that will point towards Christ.

Little Rock World Changers or Bust!

Across the southeastern states there are fourteen churches that are loading buses and trailers to bring students to Little Rock, Arkansas, for a week of World Changers.  The Coordinating Staff and Summer Staff are anxiously awaiting at Life Line Baptist Church for the 250 adults and students who will arrive tomorrow.

The Coordinating Staff include: Pam Yarborough as the Project Coordinator, Don Scott as the Construction Coordinator, and Jeff Dials as the Associational Coordinator. The Summer Staff include Jonathan Cisco as the Audio/Visual Technician, Neal Brooks as the Music Leader, Megan Russell as the Office Manager, and Daphne Davies as the Missions Communication Specialist.

Pray for the students as they travel to Little Rock. Pray for the situations that will happen this week- that God will give students boldness and courage as they share their faith and that He will provide safety for the students as they work.
