Time to Celebrate!

Well, we did it! We finished! After 5 days of work … 12 roofs got completed. 12 worlds got changed by 160 people who love the Lord enough to sacrifice a week of their lives.

It was once again a successful week. We met tons of new friends and met Jesus in a way we have never done before. There is an excitement in the air here as people realize that they have made friends for life. It’s sad to say goodbye to our new friends but it’s exciting to know we completed what we came here for.

It’s time to celebrate in a big way! God is good!

Thanks for a wonderful week!!! Can’t wait to do it again next year!

Oh Praise Him

“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever.”                                                                            1 Peter 1:24

Despite the rain earlier this week some crews are becoming quite close to finishing their houses and others aren’t to far behind. The students and adults are excited to see the fruits of their labor in the form of 12 new roofs and one new porch. Everyone in the city is buzzing about the fantastic thins WC is doing here this week!

Our main focus today is missions. All week long the students have been presented with different missions opportunities and challenged to pray and ask God to lay their personal call to missions on their hearts. We have raise $1,895.06 for the missions offering and will be collecting more tonight at the WC auction. It is World Changers goal to see each participant commit one semester or summer to missions before they graduate college. Tonight the students will have an opportunity to explore their call to missions at the missions round table. This is a time for discussion and discovery for each student or adult who feels a tug at their hearts from the Lord. Please be in prayer that the participants will attend missions round table and come eager with interest and questions.

Just a reminder today is the last day for e-couragrams so if you wish to send one. please do so before 11:00 p.m..

Rain Rain Go Away…

Well … it rained today in Nashville and although it did rain it didn’t stop the crews from working just as hard as if the sun had been shining. It’s amazing the determination that you have when you set your mind to something. We want to finish these houses and we are going to to all we can come rain or shine.

Tonight during worship was one of our most favorite times of the week … the concert of prayer is an amazing experience every week but this week … WOW! The Lord showed up in a mighty way and really spoke to people tonight. There were a lot of restored hearts tonight and  it was amazing watching people pray together and love each other with the love of the Lord!

We’re all excited to work hard in the morning and then get to have the afternoon off to explore Nashville. This city is great and we are so thankful to be here!

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” – Matthew 9:37

The Great Send Off!

“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” 1 Corinthians 15:58

It was hot today. So you know what we did? We worked … and we worked HARD! Not only did we get A LOT of work done today but we enjoyed it! We laughed a lot and loved getting to really know the people on our crews. It didn’t matter how hot it was there was no way we were going to let the heat slow us down. We came here for a reason and we are going to accomplish what we came here for. If all the roofs don’t get done this week, that won’t mean we didn’t accomplish our goals though. We got to meet a lot of people at our sites today who couldn’t believe we were doing what we were doing. They couldn’t believe that a bunch of kids would come to work in the heat and help someone get a new roof all in the name of Jesus. That’s our real ministry. Sharing the love of Jesus. Planting small seeds one at a time to watch them grow!

We all gathered together this morning before we went to work to pray for the week. We met in the parking lot and got to circle up and hold hands with the people next to us and unite as one body of Christ. It was really awesome being able to see such a huge group of fellow believers excited about what the day/week will hold. We then gathered up our stuff and headed to our work sites for a day of work none of us will ever forget.

Now that we’re back and showered we are excited to have worship tonight and be able to rest in the arms of Jesus as we praise His name. It’s funny though … because what we did all day today was worship too, just unlike any worship that many of us have ever done. It makes you realize that every moment is a moment to worship our Creator. Whether we have a hammer in our hands and are replacing a roof or whether we have a Bible in our hands and our head bowed in prayer we are worshiping with everything we have!

God is so good. ALL the time! What a wonderful day! Lives are being changed every second here and we’re having a BLAST in the process.

So, here’s to a WONDERFUL day #1. We’re tired but we are already ready for tomorrow!!

Crew Chats & New Experiences

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ”Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here Am I. Send me!” – Isaiah 6:8

Today is always fun. Everyone wakes up like it’s Christmas morning to find out what crew they are on. This is the moment you get to meet the people that you will spend the whole week with. This is the moment you meet some of the people who will become your dearest friends. It is just a really exciting time and it’s really fun to stand back and watch it as it all unfolds.

All the crews met up with their teams and went to church this morning. Many people went to churches like they had been to before and experienced many new things. That’s what this week is all about … getting outside of our comfort zones and loving God by loving others. As we go through this week and show the love of the Lord by our actions our prayer is that we are set apart from the rest of the world.

In a world where it’s easy to blend in may we all take that step to stand apart. To change this world and in the process have our world changed.

Tonight is worship. We are so looking forward to being able to worship the Lord collectively by song and prayer and praise. Tonight is going to be fun and we hope laughter fills these halls as we fellowship together!

The Middle East Team

Well hello! It’s nice to meet you!

Well, today is the day. The day that everyone arrives and all the anticipation and excitement comes to fruition! We are SO excited that everyone arrived here safely and everyone seems to be enjoying their time so far … shower trailers and all :)

It still blows our minds at how strongly the Lord shows up at these projects. He was here when we walked in to set up on Thursday and He will be here with us through the whole week and continue to go with us as we go back home. We are always so thankful at how GOOD God is!

We are EXCITED for this week and the way lives will be changed. We can see in the eyes of each person that walked through the doors today that this is going to be an AMAZING week.

So …. 1, 2, 3 ….. let’s GO! Let’s change the world. Let’s start right here in Nashville and never stop.

More tomorrow! Thanks for all your prayers!

For His Glory,

The Middle East Team

Nashville Here We come!!!

Trailers and vans will be loaded with luggage, tools, students, and adults tomorrow morning, all on their way to Nashville, but not just to visit the Grand Ole Opry or hear the latest country music star perform. These adults and students are coming to Nashville with a much greater purpose in mind. They are on their way to spend the week serving the Lord through construction and evangelism. Throughout the week, students will be working on houses in the community and serving the community in any way they can. These 160 students/adults are from the states South Carolina, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

Our summer staff has been anxiously awaiting everyone’s arrival and cannot wait to see what God has in store for all of us this week. The Office Manager/Team Leader this week is Sam Jennings; he is from North Carolina and will be in charge of all the paper work for the week. Courtney Haveman is the Missions Communications Specialist and is from Texas, if you have any questions about the offering or different mission opportunities she will gladly answer them. Worship will be lead all week by Music Leader Jordan Price, who is from Georgia, and all sound/video will be controlled by our A/V Tech Lexi Berryhill who is also from the great state of Texas. Please keep all of the staff, students, and adults in your prayers this week as they go out and serve the community of Nashville.

In His Glory,

The Middle East Team
