Farewell from Salt Lake City

First we would like to thank everyone that has been following our blog and all our participants! It has been a great week in Salt Lake City and the effort put forth by the students and adults will have lasting effects here.

This week there were 12 homes that were worked on. 8 of these homes received new roofs while the rest received paint jobs. After the gospel was shared 34 times we had 8 who were interested in seeing a pastor. Tonight, 1 of the homeowners who attended closing celebration received Christ into his life after the celebration! Our greatest WOW moment of the week. The Lord showed the participants that even though their work may be done on the worksites, He is never done!

Here are shots of our 12 crews from this week!

***Check out the World Changers Facebook Fan Page @ www.facebook.com/wcnamb! We give out tons of prizes over the course of the year, and you can stay up to date on details related to World Changers as well as hear what God is doing in and through the lives of other World Changers!

Salt Lake City: Going with the Flow

Salt Lake City has had another great day of work and activity!

Tonight was our planned community night but due to high winds and the threat of rain we were forced to cancel. Instead we held a worship service where speaker Nate Ray called students to turn their every day lives into a mission field. The following pictures give a glimpse into the service.

Two nights ago we held our offering to support five different church plants student ministries across the U.S. Through the giving of the participants we raised $712. This is very exciting and through the entire summer of World Changer’s offerings we hope to see the church plant student ministries grow and begin having an impact in their communities.

Tomorrow is our final day of being at the worksites and tomorrow night will be closing celebration!

***E-couragrams will not be accepted past 10pm for this project.

Goodbye for now from Salt Lake!

Hard Work and Fun Times Happening in Salt Lake

Today was another great day in Salt Lake City! Crews headed out this morning to continue with their roofing and painting projects. Many crews are coming close to finishing up at their sites and will be able to move on and help those with larger projects. Here are a few pictures of the crews we checked in with today. They stayed hard at work the whole day!

We held Concert of Prayer tonight; the youth group devotions afterwards were very fruitful and students were feeling filled after the service! Everyone is excited for our community night tomorrow night. There will be a carnival in one of the local parks that will include snow cones, inflatables, and lots of fun!

Free time is always an exciting time here in Salt Lake. Here are some pictures of students tonight playing Knock-Out, Whoonu, and just bonding with students from different areas!

Cool Days in Salt Lake City

We had a great day here in Salt Lake City! We started off the day with “The Great Send Off”! This is where we circle everyone up outside and pray over the project as a whole. Then, off they go! Twelve crews went on their ways out into the cities of Salt Lake and South Salt Lake. Five crews are working on painting and yard work while seven of our crews have roofing projects. The day included exciting activities like birthday parties for home owners and ice cream cones provided by generous citizens of South Salt Lake City.

The weather is wonderful here this time of year; the days are between 75-80 degrees. All the crews are enjoying this as they work on top of the roofs! Here are some pictures from the day, including the send off and the crew’s first days on the roof:

Worship tonight was also a great time. The offering was taken up and before his message speaker Nate Ray had the student’s play a game of the blind leading the blind.  Check out Nate’s entire message via the Word Changers podcast on iTunes!

We’re excited to see what the Lord has in store for the rest of the week!

Now everyone is fast asleep, ready for the 7am “Great Send Off” in the morning.
