“Here I am, Send me.”

With 276 teens and adults working hard for five days we can accomplish more than you could imagine. 25 homes now have new roofs, decks, handicap ramps, and even a fresh coat of paint. These students presented the gospel seven times and handed out 31 tracts. Unbelievable things have happened this week in Rockingham County. Many great relationships not only within their own youth groups, but on their crews and also with their homeowners and host church. We want to thank every person who has been involved with the World Changers Rockingham Project. It has been an amazing week, may God bless reach one of you.

Keep changing the world! See you next year.

Giving Hearts, Helping Hands

The offering goal in Rockingham County this week was $2,600. The students went above and beyond with a whopping total of $3,768.96! The offering this year will go to three different wonderful ministries.

- Kaleo Conferences- Specialized events for high school, college, and seminary students exploring or pursuing God’s call to a Christian related vocation. The goal of World Changers is to be able to fund four regional Kaleo conferences in 2008, which would equip students to successfully answer God’s call on their lives.

- Canada- The cities are were most of the people in Canada live, but where there are the least number of evangelizing people for Christ and starting churches that will make an impact for generations.

- Urban Evangelism- The fastest growing segments among teens today are found within the Hispanic and African American community. In order to fulfill the Great Commission, we as the Church need to see the need for urban evangelism and respond. Therefore, the offering will fully fund four US/C2 missionaries to go to Chicago, Baltimore, San  Antonio, and Detroit next year.

Because the students will be leaving tomorrow E-couragrams will no longer be accepted. Thank you for all the ones you have sent this week.

Rebuilding a Community on Faith

This year marks the second time that World Changers as come to Rockingham County, NC. When World Changers volunteers come to town, the whole community gets involved. The community welcomes us with open arms and smiling faces. So far the county has given the participants hats World Changers hats and visors. Tomorrow we are having Christmas in July and they will each receive a Rockingham WC t-shirt. On Thursday the community will also surprise the participants with a homemade ice cream social. The community of Rockingham County give so lovingly because they realize the difference these students are making in their community through their service and hard work. We are so appreciative of everything the community does for us and the example of a Christ like attitude they have.

Oh boy is it early!

Wake up! It’s 6:15 and time for breakfast. We circle up for a prayer before we head off to our worksites. 70 balloons were let go in celebration of our first day of work. The Mayor of Rockingham County came and read a proclamation declaring this week World Changers Week. The people of this community are so excited we are here to serve. The students head off and work from 7:00-4:00. As they returned hot and tired they had plenty of stories of how they were able to serve. Continue to pray for the participants.

How can we be Set Apart?

World Changers theme this year is to be set apart. What does is mean to be set apart? How can we be set apart?

These are all questions the participants are being asked this week by Chuck O’Neal, the speaker. The students will be digging deep into the Bible to see what it means to be a Christian and strive to live as Christ did. Once we realize what it means to serve and love others we will be different from the rest of the world, this sets us apart.

Pray for these students daily. Pray that God will reveal Himself to them. Pray they will open their hearts to Christ and live fully for Him. Also, pray for the students as they work hard his week in the community. Pray not only for their safety, but that they will have opportunities visit with the homeowners and neighbors and explain to them why they are different and why they are set apart.
